Focus

IITM has a broad focus based on the workings of its various Centers and Programs. IITM offers value-added service  in our respective fields. We focus on bringing new and innovative ideas and practices to our clients. In research and project implementation, event management or in training, we focus on finding the appropriate balance.

Strategically, we invite collaborations and take initiatives to partner with individuals and organizations for greater benefit and speed of execution on an assigned engagement.  Our approach allows us to learn, apply and grow. Our knowledge bank grows geometrically as result.

Training & Development: On the training and development side, applicable education is at the core of our strategy; our success depends on providing cutting-edge marketable human resource training. At IITM, we focus on:

i).   Quality training, service and support

ii).    Continuous learning and teaching environment

iii).  Take leadership position in Information and Communication Technologies training areas

v).     Develop in-house and International Cooperative programs

vi).     Explore research and widen our participation in various areas

vii)  Setup new domains of knowledge and drive an implementation plan to bring the new ideas as marketable outputs

Research, Survey & Report

A good component of activities at IITM revolves around working

with clients on researching, surveying and generating reports. In

the last few months, research reports on markets and livelihoods

in  various regions of Bangladesh was undertaken, giving us in-

depth knowledge of the demographic, psychographic and

economic conditions of these areas. A prime objective of these

research activities was to gauge the regional socio-economic

pattern and understand the collective aspirations of the people in

these areas.

Environment & Impact on livelihood

Researching with a few NGOs, at IITM, we have been able to

identify the common threads of environmental issues within the

country and how these issues impact our society and the global

community at large. Starting from understanding the awareness

level among the general populace, we have undertaken studies

within various districts, pourashavos and regions of Bangladesh.

Some additional scope of work for IITM in this regard is discussed

in detail at www.cenv.org.

Event Management

IITM had recently concluded an event in organizing the 1st

National Pottery Trade Fair 2006 in Bangladesh. The Pottery sub-

sector of Bangladesh is a neglected sector whereas the earning

potential from this sector is immense. There is not only a captive

home market that needs to tapped into, there are also significant

scopes in promoting the earthen products internationally.

Bangladesh has its unique line of products and the artisanship is

equal to any international potters products. There is a definite

need to revive and resuscitate this industry as the livelihoods of

more than 800,000 people are directly of indirectly interlinked with

this sector. IITM being an innovative organization decided to

assist in the growth of this industry by hosting this event.

Practical Action, UK partly funded the event. We, at IITM, were

successful in developing the market linkages for these potters

who hail from different corners of Bangladesh.

Business Incubation

We provide technical and strategic support for bringing new

concepts to the market. We are currently working on a few

initiatives ( iitmsoftware.com and beekree.biz) and have plans to

foray into other areas. We have dedicated team members

assigned for providing necessary organizational development

support. Our idea is to nurture goods concepts and give guidance

so that an entrepreneur is born and employment created.
